Trade Secrets Marketing Coordinator

Part-Time | Temporary | Hybrid | $30/hour

Help bring one of the region’s most celebrated events to life.

Trade Secrets is Project SAGE’s signature fundraiser — a much-loved weekend of extraordinary gardens, plants and antiques that brings together garden lovers, designers, vendors, volunteers and supporters in support of a meaningful cause.

We’re looking for a creative, organized and hands-on Marketing Coordinator to help bring the 2027 Trade Secrets campaign to life.

This is a role for someone who enjoys making things happen: turning a marketing plan into compelling social content, emails and promotional materials; keeping assets and communications moving; and helping build excitement as Trade Secrets approaches.

You’ll work closely with the Marketing Strategy Lead and coordinate with the Trade Secrets Project Manager, with a clear focus on executing the marketing campaign beautifully, accurately and on time.

What You’ll Do

  • Execute the Trade Secrets marketing plan across social media, email and other channels

  • Create, adapt and update marketing materials using established messaging, templates and brand direction

  • Prepare and schedule social media content and email communications

  • Gather and organize photography, copy, logos and other campaign assets

  • Make routine updates and revisions to marketing materials

  • Support event listings, promotional outreach and media/PR needs

  • Coordinate with the Trade Secrets Project Manager to keep event information, timing and marketing deliverables aligned

  • Help capture and share the energy of Trade Secrets through event-related marketing and content

  • Attend key Trade Secrets events and activities as needed

  • Provide onsite marketing and content support during the three-day May event

These responsibilities reflect the approved Marketing Coordinator scope, including hands-on execution across social, email and promotional channels, asset management, outreach and onsite event support.

Who We’re Looking For

You’re creative and organized. You have a good eye, strong attention to detail and the ability to take an established strategy and run with it.

You’re comfortable juggling multiple deliverables without needing constant direction, and you understand that good marketing is as much about follow-through as it is about ideas.

Ideally, you bring:

  • Hands-on experience in marketing, communications, social media or content

  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills

  • Experience creating and scheduling social media and email communications

  • Comfort working within established brand guidelines, templates and creative direction

  • Strong organizational and project-management skills

  • Familiarity with Canva and social/email marketing platforms

  • An eye for photography, design and visual storytelling

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a small team

  • Experience with events, nonprofits, lifestyle, garden/design or community organizations is a plus

The Details

Compensation: $30/hour
Position: Temporary, part-time
Timing: January through May 2027, with hours increasing as the event approaches
Location: Hybrid — much of the work can be done remotely, with in-person attendance at key Trade Secrets activities and onsite support during the May event in Lakeville, CT

The role begins in January 2027 with a lighter schedule focused on getting the campaign underway. Hours will increase as marketing activity builds, with the greatest concentration of work expected in March, April and May. Some flexibility in hours is anticipated based on campaign needs and workflow.

The overall engagement is expected to be approximately 90–130 hours, including support during the three-day Trade Secrets event. This matches the approved staffing and hours framework while leaving flexibility in how those hours are distributed.

Why Trade Secrets?

This isn’t just another event campaign.

Trade Secrets brings together beauty, creativity and community in support of Project SAGE’s mission to end relationship violence. It’s an opportunity to help tell that story, build excitement around a beloved regional event and be part of making the 2027 Trade Secrets weekend a success.
