Marketing/Communications Coordinator (Part/Time)

Location: Lakeville, CT | Part-Time, Non-Exempt (22.5 hours/week, on-site)

Project SAGE is a domestic violence prevention education agency in northwest Connecticut. Our mission is to create social change by challenging attitudes and beliefs about power, control, and gender norms. Who You Are

As the Marketing/Communications Coordinator, you are the public voice of our agency. You balance our artistic vision with business acumen and meticulous execution. You work with us to determine our voice and ensure the consistent branding of our agency. You obsess over the small things others might overlook - like font consistency, brand color accuracy, and message alignment across channels. You also bring a fresh thinking to campaigns, finding innovative ways to present familiar messages or reach new audiences. You are skilled at maintaining brand consistency and are welcoming, inclusive and consistent across all channels. You are a strategist who loves to vision. You intuitively understand how to adjust tone, style and messages for different platforms and audiences.You love using project managing skills to keep complex initiatives on track. You dig into metrics to understand what’s resonating. You use data to refine your approach. You are an enthusiastic storyteller who is passionate about using narrative to make connections and share information. You are a natural collaborator who loves to engage with other staff members and volunteers. You are committed to being in service together to share the mission and vision of Project SAGE.

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Director of Community Engagement, you will be responsible for supporting and executing marketing campaigns, managing communication strategies, and ensuring consistent messaging across various platforms, including campaign management, press relationships, content creation and project management across marketing and communications efforts, including: 

  1. Marketing and Communications Strategy (45%-55%): At the direction of the Director of Community Engagement, you will work collaboratively with the Project SAGE team to determine the voice and create consistent branding for all Project SAGE marketing and communications efforts.

  2. Social Media Management (35%-45%): You will create a social media campaign that aligns with marketing/communications plan and manages Project SAGE social media presence on all applicable platforms.

  3. Agency Requirements (5-10%): You will collaborate with each department as necessary and participate in agency-wide meetings, events, and trainings

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in public relations, marketing, communications, journalism, social media management or a related field, or 2+ years applicable experience

  • Strong background in marketing strategies and techniques

  • Knowledge of and an ability to work with a with a variety of traditional and digital marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing

  • Knowledge of and an ability to work with a with a variety of social media

  • Working knowledge of HTML and design and email software

  • Experience working with diverse groups

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace.

  • Willingness to obtain domestic violence counselor certification (training provided);Clear commitment to Project SAGE’s mission and values.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comfortable with design concepts and programs for marketing materials

  • Experience with networking and public speaking;Experience using data analytics software for research

  • Ability to maintain and complete timely, accurate statistical and narrative reports

Special Requirements

  • Willingness to answer and direct agency hotline calls when advocates are unavailable (training provided);

  • Willingness to drive for agency-related reasons which requires a valid driver’s license and insurance. Agency vehicle may be available for use or mileage will be reimbursed;

  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours as needed

Physical Expectations

  • Ability to sit or stand at a desk for extended periods, lift up to 20 pounds occasionally, and move around the office (including using stairs).

We Offer

  • Compensation: Base hourly rate of $25.64–$28.20 based on experience, skills, and the potential you bring to the team (salary range of $30,000-$33,000)

  • Schedule: Part-time, non-exempt, 22.5 hours/week on-site at our Lakeville, CT office, with opportunities for additional hours and WFH eligibility
